I’m a mom of seven kids—yes, seven in nine years—so chaos has always been part of my life.
Our house was a constant rotation of football, wrestling, swimming, lacrosse, soccer, carpools, and everything in between. My husband is an FDNY firefighter with an unpredictable schedule, and on top of that we run a small school bus company together. Life has always been busy… and honestly, it still is.
Through all of it, fitness has been my reset. It’s always been the thing that helped me clear my head, recharge, and feel like myself again.
But I also believe something strongly: fitness shouldn’t mean perfection.
Working out shouldn’t feel like punishment for enjoying your life.
I love being social. I love going out to dinner with friends and having a cocktail or two. Life is meant to be lived, and finding balance between taking care of yourself and enjoying life is something many of us struggle with.
That’s where Fit IRL — Fit In Real Life was born.
For years I was balancing motherhood, businesses, carpools, and chaos. Just when life started to shift out of the elementary school years, menopause hit me early at 47—and suddenly everything I thought I knew about fitness changed. I was tired, my hormones were all over the place, and I started gaining weight in places I never had before.
But I still had a busy life to manage, and I knew I needed to keep moving—not just for my body, but for my mind.
That experience reshaped the way I think about fitness.
Fit IRL is built around the idea that real life includes chaos, carpools, cocktails, and menopause.
It’s about understanding that women are juggling a lot, and sometimes the only time we have for ourselves is 10–30 minutes. And that’s okay. Even a short workout can be the mental reset we need.
Being fit in real life means enjoying good food, good company, and the life you’re building—without feeling like you have to “earn” it through punishment in the gym.
Because fitness shouldn’t be something you have to do.
It should be something you look forward to.
Life can change in an instant, and we only get one. Taking care of your body should help you enjoy it more—not restrict it.
Welcome to Fit IRL.
